Back To School Tax Free Weekend 2019 Information

back to school concept

It's almost time for the kids to go back to school, and that means it's about time for the Back To School Tax Free Weekend for 2019! This year, parents and students will be able to shop for most of their school supplies, tax free, on the weekend of August 3rd and 4th. The tax free shopping "holiday" will actually begin at 12:01am on Saturday, August 3rd and continue until 11:59pm on August 4th and that means that Arkansas will hold its sales tax, allowing shoppers to purchase school supplies and clothing at a discounted rate.

According to the Arkansas Dept. of Finance and Administration, "All retailers are required to participate and may not charge tax on items that are legally tax-exempt during the Sales Tax Holiday."
