Why Don't We Brings Jingle Ball to Special Group in Atlanta

Why Don't We has embraced the holiday spirit in a big way. Not only are they performing in multiple cities as part of the 2019 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, the band is bringing Jingle Ball to those who couldn't make it to the show this year. To help spread the cheer this season, and some really great music, Aflac has teamed up with iHeartRadio and Musicians On Call to bring the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour to kids facing cancer at Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, who couldn't attend the show.

Going room to room, Why Don't We met with and performed for the young patients at the children's hospital. They said of the special day, "As a musician, this is the coolest part of the job, it feels really good. They're, like, just so happy." The band added, "It's been really special to see the kids just kinda light up a little bit, listen to music and sing along a little bit, and it's been so fun. We met some sweethearts, for sure."

One young patient happened to be a big Why Don't We fan, and said of the group and their impact, "I'm a Why Don't We fan. And they have been there for me since I went under for surgery, because I listen to them. And then, [when] I found out I had cancer, I was just like, 'Well, if Why Don't We can do all of the things that they've done, then I can do this.'"

Musicians On Call CEO & President Pete Griffin explained, "We wanted to do something special for patients who couldn't come to Jingle Ball, but really wanted to experience the unique power that music has." He added, "Music actually helps people heal. It lowers stress levels, helps with pain management, [and] helps improve mental outlook."

And Aflac's Shannon Watkins, VP Brand, said, "Aflac's been a pioneer in cancer insurance, and we see the impact of cancer every single day. We've given back to those kids and families in need [of] cancer research and treatment. And we're also giving back by partnering with iHeart and Musicians on Call to bring the Jingle Ball to kids who cannot attend live." She adds, "It's our way of giving back and bringing a little bit of holiday cheer to those who need it the most."

The iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour kicked off in Tampa, FL on December 1st, and makes stops in Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, Washington, DC, Chicago and Atlanta, before wrapping up in Fort Lauderdale/Miami on December 22nd.
