ARDOT Asks Drivers To Stay Home As Winter Weather Moves Through State

During a news conference with Governor Hutchinson on Tuesday, ARDOT spokesperson Dave Parker said, "We are asking that during that period roughly from Wednesday night, late Wednesday night, into Friday morning that you stay home... stay safe, stay warm, stay off the roadways. let us get out there and do the job that you have hired us to do."

Parker went on to say that if it were just snow coming to the area, that would be one thing, but that ice is "a different animal" and that "ice brings different concerns. Just a little bit of ice can cause a lot of problems."

ARDOT has already started loading trucks with salt for the roadways and making sure that equipment is ready for the winter weather that will be passing through the northern half of Arkansas starting Wednesday night.
