Kate Beckinsale shared a vulnerable slice of her life in a new emotional video dedicated to her mother.
On Wednesday (July 9), the Serendipity actress shared a video on Instagram capturing a heartfelt moment she shared with her mom, Judy Loe, amid her health battle, per Page Six. Beckinsale revealed last year that her mother had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
The clip, which has since been deleted, featured a tearful Beckinsale wearing a hospital gown over her clothes as she sang The Everly Brothers' 1958 song "Bye, Bye Love" to her 78-year-old mother. The sweet moment paid homage to Loe's time "in a harmony group with her best friends" Mary, Sylvia and Chris when they were 14 years old. In the caption, Beckinsale revealed that while sadly Mary "is no longer with us," the lifelong friends would "up until very recently" get together and "still absolutely kill it."
"I am a very poor substitute not being a very good singer," she said, also apologizing to hospital staff for her "dreadful singing." "But I want my mum's dearest and oldest friends in her hospital room with her."
Beckinsale shared gratitude to Chris and Sylvia, affectionately nicknamed Fuzzy, for the support and love they continue to show Loe, writing, "It is a mark of my mother's extraordinary capacity for love and deep respect for relationship history that her friendships with her early school friends are still so very current."
Last week, the Underworld star hinted going through "deeply painful times" while addressing her dramatic weight loss, though she didn't divulge any details.
